CAP is a topic about which I am very familiar and I was ready to be blitzed with lots of useless information or condescended to by an author who did not know much more than me. In fact the page was respectful of a clinician’s knowlege base, information needs and way of thinking. The emphasis on evidence based medicine is very appealing to me. Being up to date is a key to the success of this site and will keep me coming back – so I really liked the MDAlerts section. What you are doing is really exciting. Ease of access to high quality, up to date, well presented information will really help the quality of care that a clinician can deliver. You will make doctors smarter.

As I see the primary convenience of the Internet is to be able to get updated information in an easy and practical way. Medicine is continuously changing and to be able to be updated is a full time job. The expansion of information on the net is enormous, and if you want to find specific information concerning anything at all you can get it without any trouble. All it takes is time, and time is what most of us don’t have too much of. I had been using several sources of information for treatment of my patients before I started using your site. Some of them were too thorough and some too shallow. What I was really looking for was a site who would be practical and easy to find my way through without having to look for too long. All this is what I found in www.praxis.md in a better way than I had found before. Your reference has established itself as one of the most practical and widely known literature in the practice of medicine. It gives a secure feeling to know that one can be able to look things up everywhere without having to carry the book all the time.

I appreciate the new format and value the two layer structure. The brief report format lends itself to providing brief updates that would be of great use in practice. When I have limited time to scan through a lot of web pages, this format gives me the information I need quickly and easily. I found the information timely in its utility to primary care. I am also a fan of the format with patient information and clinical information.

Would this be a useful resource for answering common questions in primary care practice? Absolutely! How does it compare with other sites or print material you use? Much better. For example… POL the physicians online network has a pathetic section on clinical medicine, Harrisons is too mumbo-jumbo…. I like the ‘brief’ Section – this is the best part and what distinguishes it from all others.

I have reviewed the article on CAP twice. First I would like to provide a general comment related to the appearance and organization of the site/article. You have done a fantastic job. The site is extremely well organized. First, the meat of the matter is available in a clear and concise manner. Second, if you wish to dig just a little deeper, the second level of information is a mouse click away. Third, if you want evidence based medicine data, you can easily access the third level of information. Your attention to the physician’s ability to access evidence-based medicine to back up expert opinion is commendable. Finally, based on the abstracts found in the third level, you can access full length articles. A wonderful job and extremely well organized and helpful. The site is so easy to access, and so concise, that it could even be useful in Emergency Medicine.
